DEMOCRATIC LOLLAPALOOZA
Being inside the Fleet Center during the Democratic National Convention was like being backstage at a four-day rock concert. No one was immune to the excitement when a politician or celebrity went by...
Rick Brennan, President of the Harris County Young Democrats and a fellow Democrat from SD13, was a man on a mission. Each day during the Convention, he would attend various caucuses and walk the Floor of the Convention seeking autographs in his memorial edition of John F. Kennedy's Profiles In Courage. He received quite a few, including Janet Reno, Carl Levin, Michael Moore and others.
On Thursday night, before John Kerry accepted our Nomination, the Texas Delegation was visited by BOTH Governor Howard Dean and General Wesley Clark. I must say I went nuts - early in the Primary I had been back and forth between the two candidates, and have a great deal of admiration and affection for both. So when I was able to obtain the signatures of BOTH Dean and Clark on my Women's Caucus badge within an hour of each other, I was absolutely elated.
