HAS THE GOP GONE COMPLETELY NUTS?
As many of you did, I received an email tonight from Mary Beth Cahill with the Kerry Campaign. It seems the Bush-Cheney Campaign has interspersed video of Hitler with that of Kerry and other Democrats...
...But on further viewing and recollection, it seems that this is the very video that a supporter of MoveOn.org sent in as an anti-Bush ad, and the GOP screamed so loudly about. Apparently the Bush-Cheney Campaign has taken it upon themselves to regurgitate this ad, along with clips of various Democrats and Progressives (including Al Gore, Howard Dean, Michael Moore, and of course John Kerry).
You can see the clip (at least for now) on the Bush-Cheney website, or if you'd rather not pay them a visit and just go directly to the Windows Media clip I have the direct link here.
Doesn't it seem a bit hypocritical for the GOP to be using clips of the very ad that they griped so loudly at the Democrats for using? And isn't it a big gamble to show so many clips of REALLY pissed off people screaming at Bush?
Let's see, in one week the Vice President tells a Democratic Senator to "go f&%k yourself," the GOP's candidate for U.S. Senate from Illinois drops out amid a sex scandal, and now their media team thinks this video is going to pull votes to the GOP. I don't know what they're smoking or drinking at the RNC, but I wish they'd share...
UPDATE: It seems this story has now made the national news. The Associated Press (by way of Yahoo News) has now published a story on the nastiness of the ad, where the GOP attempts to defend the indefensible.
Methinks that God's Own Party is a bit scared. It's not even July, and already the nuts are going overboard in what has long promised to be the nastiest Presidential campaign in recent times. Never mind the horrors of war going on overseas, we'll have plenty of "shock and awe" over here...
