Wag The Dog?
From http://www.nion.us/
On April 9, the U.S. media was filled with pictures supposedly showing a great crowd of Iraqis pulling down a statue of Saddam Hussein. This wide angle photo shows that the whole event was a staged photo-op for the American media. The statue is actually being pulled over by a Marine Corps M88 tank recovery vehicle, while cameras on the ground focus in on a couple dozen Iraqis allowed into the area for the event. Everyone else is kept away by tanks around the plaza.
Interesting... If this is true, it won't stay quiet for too long. Guess I'd better go check out the British and other foreign press for more research on this, since we sure won't get the real scoop from our own journalists.
